RESPITE CARE SERVICES PROVIDED.


SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICES PROVIDED.IN GENERAL THE ARC OF SOUTHEAST IOWA (THE ARC) IS AN AUTONOMOUS, SELF-GOVERNING, NOT FOR PROFIT AGENCY. THE ARC OF SOUTHEAST IOWA IS A DUES-PAYING MEMBER OF THE ARC OF IOWA AND THE ARC OF U.S. ASSOCIATIONS THAT ADVOCATE AND LOBBY FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE DISABLED ON THE STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL. THE ARC OF SOUTHEAST IOWA IS ALSO A DUES-PAYING MEMBER OF THE IOWA ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY PROVIDERS, WHICH IS COMMITTED TO PROMOTING HEALTHY AND SECURE COMMUNITIES FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES. SINCE 1958 THE ARC HAS FOCUSED ON INCLUSION FOR PERSONS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN THEIR HOME COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT THEIR LIFESPAN. THE ARC IS COMMITTED TO BEING A LEADER IN OFFERING INFORMATION, SERVICES, AND ADVOCACY TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, THEIR FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITY: TO PROMOTE INFORMED CHOICES AND THE REALIZATION OF THEIR GOALS RELATING TO WHERE AND HOW THEY LIVE, LEARN, WORK, AND PLAY.DURING FY2021 THE ARC PROVIDED THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF SERVICE IN RESPITE CARE, SUPPORTED COMMUNITY LIVING, CONSUMER DIRECTED ATTENDANT CARE, AND SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT SERVICES TO ASSIST PERSONS IN ACQUIRING AND MAINTAINING JOBS. THE ARC ALSO PROVIDED: COMMUNITY EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, INFORMATION AND REFERRALS, RESPITE FOR WEEKLY PARENT CONNECTION SUPPORT GROUPS, MONTHLY GROUP RESPITE DAYS, COORDINATION OF FAMILIES AND SOCIAL WORK STUDENTS IN MEETING AND LEARNING TOGETHER THROUGH THE SCRIPT PROGRAM, HOME AND VEHICLE MODIFICATION PROGRAMS, AND A MONTHLY NEWSLETTER TO ALL MEMBERS.
