MINNESOTA NURSING PUBLIC POLICY NURSING INTERNSHIP: OBJECTIVES OF PROGRAM: TO LEARN WHY NURSES NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN PUBLIC POLICY/ TO DEVELOP AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE PUBLIC POLICY PROCESS, TO IDENTIFY TECHNIQUES TO ADVANCE LEGISLATIVE ISSUES AT THE GRASSROOTS LEVEL; TO DEVELOP SKILLS FOR CONTACTING LEGISLATORS; AND TESTIFYING AT A LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE HEARING AND MEDIA MESSAGING. THE MINNESOTA NURSING PUBLIC POLICY NURSING INTERNSHIP TOOK PLACE NOV. 10-11. THERE WERE 29 REGISTERED ATTENDEES AND STUDENTS. 9 CONTACT HOURS WERE OFFERED.


SPRING 2021 SPRING LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE RECONNECTING AND MOVING FORWARD. OBJECTIVE OF THE CONFERENCE WAS TO PROVIDE NURSE LEADERS WITH INFORMATION AND TOOLS TO EFFECTIVELY MANAGE THE CURRENT CHALLENGES IN OUR NEW HEALTHCARE LANDSCAPE. THIS CONFERENCE WAS HELD VIRTUALLY ON APRIL 22-23. EIGHT CONTACT HOURS WERE OFFERED AND THERE WERE 106 ATTENDEES.


FALL 2021 FALL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE FALL FORWARD: CREATING A NEW REALITY IN NURSING LEADERSHIP. OBJECTIVE OF THIS CONFERENCE WAS TO PROVIDE PERSPECTIVES ON LEADERSHIP TOOLS AND STRATEGIES THAT WILL STRENGTHEN AND SUPPORT NURSES IN FORMAL AND INFORMAL LEADERSHIP ROLES. THE CONFERENCE WAS HELD VIRTUALLY ON OCTOBER 14-15. EIGHT CONTACT HOURS WERE OFFERED AND THERE WERE 129 ATTENDEES.
