GLOBAL CITIZENS NETWORK SENDS INTERGENERATIONAL TEAMS OF VOLUNTEERS TO COLLABORATE ON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS LED BY INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY PARTNERS IN AFRICA, ASIA, LATIN AMERICA, THE US AND CANADA. IN FISCAL YEAR 2015 (SEPT 1, 2014 - AUG. 31, 2015) GCN SENT 84 VOLUNTEERS AND TEAM LEADERS ON 9 DIFFERENT TRIPS TO 7 COMMUNITIES.
GLOBAL CITIZENS NETWORK PROVIDED SPANISH LANGUAGE CLASSES USING A CUSTOM-DESIGNED CURRICULUM THAT INCORPORATES CULTURAL AND SOCIAL JUSTICE THEMES AND COFFEE HOURS/MOVIE NIGHTS TO PROMOTE INFORMED, CROSS-CULTURAL DIALOGUE SURROUNDING IMPORTANT ISSUES AFFECTING OUR GLOBAL COMMUNITY.IN FISCAL YEAR 2015, GCN PROVIDED SPANISH LANGUAGE CLASSES TO 212 STUDENTS IN 31 CLASSES.
