IN FYE 6/30/23, OUR STATE AND REGIONAL HONOR BANDS PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENT MUSICIANS ACROSS THE STATE OF MINNESOTA. OUR REGIONAL HONOR BANDS ARE NON-AUDITION BASED, WHILE OUR STATE ENSEMBLES ARE AUDITION-BASED. THIS MODEL CREATES OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIGHER LEVEL PERFORMANCE FOR SOME STUDENTS AND A FUN ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY FOR OTHERS. THE PROGRAM'S EXPENSES INCLUDE CONDUCTOR THE AUGUST TEACHING SYMPOSIUM PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, NETWORKING, AND ENSEMBLE OPPORTUNITIES FOR 20-30 EDUCATORS IN THE STATE. THE SYMPOSIUM PROVIDES FOR FOUR DAYS OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS, PARTICIPATION IN A PROFESSIONAL ENSEMBLE AND READING BAND, OPPORTUNITIES TO OBSERVE MINNESOTA ALL-STATE ENSEMBLE REHEARSALS, AND OPPORTUNITIES TO NETWORK WITH OTHER TEACHERS.
