TAKEACTION MINNESOTA ENVISIONS A MINNESOTA DEDICATED TO THE PRINCIPLES OF STRONG COMMUNITIES, DEMOCRACY, AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL.

TAKEACTION MINNESOTA EDUCATION FUND IS AN ALLIANCE OF INSTITUTIONS AND INDIVIDUALS WHO COME TOGETHER TO BUILD THE POWER OF DIVERSE PEOPLE, COMMUNITIES, AND ORGANIZATIONS IN ACTIVE GRASSROOTS DEMOCRACY THAT ADVANCES RACIAL, SOCIAL, AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE. WE WORK TOWARD A STATE THAT RECOGNIZES THE INHERENT WORTH AND DIGNITY OF EVERY PERSON, AND WHOSE GOVERNMENT AND ECONOMY OPERATE BY US AND FOR US. TAKEACTION MINNESOTA EDUCATION FUND TOOK A LEADERSHIP ROLE IN KEEPING RENT DOWN FOR MINNEAPOLIS AND ST. PAUL RESIDENTS. VOTERS IN BOTH CITIES ADOPTED RENT STABILIZATION MEASURES WITH 53% OF THE VOTE. ST. PAUL PASSED ONE OF THE STRONGEST RENT CONTROL LAWS IN THE COUNTRY, AND MORE OF OUR NEIGHBORS IN BOTH CITIES WILL NOW BE ABLE TO STAY IN THEIR HOMES. TAKEACTION MINNESOTA EDUCATION FUND ALSO WORKED IN COALITION TO TRANSFORM PUBLIC SAFETY IN MINNEAPOLIS. OUR WORK RESULTED IN WINNING $3.75 MILLION FOR THE MINNEAPOLIS OFFICE OF VIOLENCE PREVENTION TO INVEST IN COMMUNITY SAFETY PRACTICES THAT DO NOT RELY ON AN ARMED RESPONSE. IN 2021, TAKEACTION MINNESOTA EDUCATION FUND MOBILIZED 444 VOLUNTEERS, PARTNERED WITH 158 ORGANIZATIONS AND PUBLISHED OVER 100 BLOG POSTS.
