BELLIS PROVIDES PEER-BASED SUPPORT TO WOMEN WHO HAVE MADE AN ADOPTION PLAN FOR THEIR CHILD IN THE PAST, ALONG WITH OTHER INDIVIDUALS WITH ANY ADOPTION EXPERIENCE. DURING THE PERIOD OF JULY 1, 2019 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2020, PEER-SUPPORT NETWORK PROGRAMS INCLUDED A WEEKEND RETREAT FOR 23 BIRTH MOTHERS, FIVE SUPPORTIVE GATHERINGS FOR UP TO 30 INDIVIDUALS, THREE STORYTELLING WORKSHOPS FOR UP TO 12 PARTICIPANTS, AND OTHER EVENTS. BELLIS ALSO ASSISTS IN PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT REGARDING ADOPTION TO BOTH YOUNG PEOPLE AND PROFESSIONALS, INCLUDING PUBLISHING EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AND ITS WEBSITE. DURING THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2020, BELLIS PROVIDED INFORMATION REGARDING ADOPTION TO MORE THAN 5,000 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN MINNESOTA THROUGH PRESENTATIONS AT VARIOUS HIGH SCHOOLS AROUND THE STATE. THE PRESENTATIONS WERE OFTEN GIVEN BY A PANEL OF INDIVIDUALS FAMILIAR WITH THE ADOPTION PROCESS, INCLUDING BIRTH PARENTS, ADOPTIVE PARENTS, ADOPTED PERSONS, AND SOCIAL WORKERS. BELLIS ALSO PROVIDED MATERIALS AND/OR IN-PERSON TRAINING TO 40 PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTERS. BROADBAND EDUCATION IS ALSO PERFORMED VIA MEDIA INTERVIEWS, PRESENTATIONS AT FAITH COMMUNITIES AND AT CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS.
