PASTORAL CARE: STAFF HOLDS WEEKLY GROUP MEETINGS WITH 20-30 PARTICIPANTS, HOLDS ANNUAL 26-WEEK COURSE FOR 20 PEOPLE, 10-15 ONE-TO-ONE PRAYER MINISTRY SESSIONS WEEKLY AND NUMEROUS OTHER PHONE AND EMAIL SUPPORT CONTACTS WEEKLY. OTHER ACTIVITIES DURING THE YEAR WERE THE FOLLOWING:* JOSHUA FELLOWSHIP: A DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM FOR MEN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18-29. THIS PROGRAM INVOLVES BIBLE STUDY, PRAYER, WORSHIP, TEACHING, SMALL GROUPS, SPORTS ACTIVITIES, RETREATS.* CALEBSPIRIT: A DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM FOR MEN AGED 30 AND OVER. THIS PROGRAM INVOLVES BIBLE STUDY AND TEACHING, PRAYER, WORSHIP, RETREATS AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES.* LIVING WATERS: AN INNER HEALING PROGRAM FOR MEN AND WOMEN INVOLVING WORSHIP AND PRAYER, BIBLE STUDY, SMALL GROUPS, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, AND ACCOUNTABILITY.* SIMON REFUGE: A DISCIPLESHIP AND PRAYER SUPPORT GROUP FOR MARRIED COUPLES. THIS PROGRAM INVOLVES BIBLE STUDIES, PRAYER, TEACHING, SMALL GROUPS AND RETREATS.* ELIJAH COMPANY: PARENTS' PRAYER SUPPORT GROUP. THIS PROGRAM INVOLVES WORSHIP, PRAYER, PERSONAL STORIES, TEACHING AND FELLOWSHIP.* CALLED OUT OF DARKNESS CELEBRATION: THIS EVENT IS HELD ANNUALLY IN OCTOBER TO SHOWCASE THE STORIES OF CHANGED LIVES. WE HEAR STORIES, WORSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP WITH BELIEVERS AT A LOCAL CHURCH IN THE METRO AREA. * PURE JOY! CELEBRATION: THIS EVENT IS HELD ANNUALLY EACH SPRING TO CELEBRATE CHANGED LIVES IN OUR MINISTRY. THE EVENT INCLUDES TESTIMONIES, WORSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP WITH ATTENDEES WHO COME FROM THE METRO AREA. * JUSTICE HOUSE OF PRAYER: OUTPOST OFFERS DAILY PRAYER MEETINGS. THE PRAYER TIMES ARE MEANT TO REFRESH, REJUVENATE AND INSPIRE OUR STAFF, PARTICIPANTS AND THE PUBLIC IN THEIR VOCATION AND RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.


EDUCATION: OUTPOST SPONSORS THE UNDERSTANDING SEXUALITY SEMINAR AND OTHER WORKSHOPS FOR VARIOUS CHURCHES AND ORGANIZATIONS. WE OFFER AN INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS OR ADULTS. THIS INTERNSHIP INVOLVES LEARNING THE WORKINGS OF A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES AND DEPUTATIONAL FUNDRAISING TECHNIQUES. A FURTHER LISTING OF ACTIVITIES DURING THE YEAR IS AS FOLLOWS:* FOUNDATIONS: AN INTRODUCTORY TEACHING COURSE DESIGNED FOR ALL NEW PARTICIPANTS.* ENCOUNTERING JESUS YOUNG ADULT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: A PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP INVOLVING TEACHING, WORSHIP AND PRAYER, MENTORING, LEADERSHIP TRAINING, MINISTRY EXPERIENCE, NEWSLETTER WRITING, AND PUBLIC SPEAKING.* PUBLIC SPEAKING: OUTPOST STAFF AND INTERNS SHARE ABOUT THE MINISTRY AND THEIR PERSONAL STORIES IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS SUCH AS, CHURCH WORSHIP SERVICES, RETREATS, YOUTH GROUPS, COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY CHAPEL, CLASSROOM AND STUDENT ORGANIZATION EVENTS AND INTERVIEWS.* NEWSLETTERS: OUTPOST SENDS OUT A MONTHLY NEWSLETTER TO INFORM THE GREATER CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY ABOUT THE ISSUES SURROUNDING BIBLICAL SEXUAL MORALITY. THIS IS ALSO A CHIEF FUNDRAISING AVENUE. ALL STAFF MEMBERS ARE ALSO REQUIRED TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE MINISTRY AND THEY DO THIS THROUGH DEPUTATIONAL SUPPORT NEWSLETTERS AS WELL. THESE ALSO FUNCTION AS EDUCATIONAL TOOLS TO TEACH ABOUT OUR MISSION AND THE BIBLE'S TEACHINGS ABOUT SEXUALITY.* OUTPOST EDUCATES. THE GOVERNING BOARD DIRECTED THAT WE SHOULD OFFER AN ACADEMIC LECTURE AS PART OF OUR EDUCATIONAL MISSION TO TEACH THE CHURCH AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT ISSUES CONCERNING GENDER AND SEXUALITY.
