THE MISSION OF THE SOCIETY IS TO ENGAGE IN AVTIVITIES BENEFICIAL TO PRAIRIE HABITATS AND THE GREATER PRAIRIE CHICKEN. THESE ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE RESEARCH, MANAGEMENT, EDUCATION, AND THE COORDINATION OF FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES.

CONSERVATION PARTNERS LEGACY GRANT #3-106580 - "ENHANCED GRASSLAND MANAGEMENT" - ENHANCED AND RESTORED 9,000 ACRES OF PRAIRIES AND GRASSLANDS ON 50 SITES IN NORTHWESTERN AND SOUTHERN MINNESOTA BY REMOVING TREES/BRUSH AND CONDUCTING PRESCRIBED FIRES ON FEDERAL WATERFOWL PRODUCTION AREAS AND NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGES.


PROVIDED MONETARY CONTRIBUTIONS TO 4 SUPPORTING ORGANIZATIONS TO BE USED IN THE INTEREST OF PRESERVING AND RESTORING NATIVE PRAIRIES AND GRASSLANDS.


PROVIDED PUBLIC EDUCATION ON PRAIRIE GRASSLANDS, NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURE, AND WILDLIFE ISSUES VIA THE PRODUCTION OF NEWSLETTERS, ORGANIZATIONAL BROCHURES AND GATHERING YEARLY CENSUS DATA.
