THE ORGANIZATION'S PURPOSE IS TO RECRUIT AND TRAIN YOUNG ADULTS IN YOUTH MINISTRY FOR LOCAL CONGREGATIONS OF THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH AS WELL AS PROVIDE LEADERSHIP SKILLS TRAINING FOR PASTORS, PARA-CHURCH STAFF, LAY PEOPLE OF CONGREGATIONS AND HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE STUDENTS.

PROGRAM SERVICE AREAS - TENTMAKERS CONSULTANTS HELP CONGREGATIONS LAY A FOUNDATION FOR CHURCH AND YOUTH MINISTRY GROWTH BY FACILITATING THE DEVELOPMENT OF PLANS THAT INCORPORATE MINISTRY VISION, MINISTRY PHILOSOPHY, STRATEGY AND STRUCTURE. THEY ALSO AID CHURCHES IN THE IDENTIFICATION AND SELECTION OF PERSONS QUALIFIED TO SERVE AS YOUTH MINISTERS, AS WELL AS PROVIDE ONGOING SERVICE AND CONSULTATION TO CHRCHES AND MINISTRIES.YOUTH MINISTRY TRAINING - YOUTH MINISTRY LEADERSHIP TRAINING IS A SIX WEEK LEADERSHIP SKILLS COURSE THAT TRAINS AND PREPARES YOUTH MINISTRY CANDIDATES TO WORK WITH YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE LOCAL CHURCH AND IS FOLLOWED BY AN ON-THE-JOB PERFORMANCE REVIEW. TENTMAKERS NETWORK PROVIDES ONGOING CONTINUING EDUCATION AND SUPPORT/ENCOURAGEMENT FOR YOUTH MINISTERS IN THEIR MINISTRIES. YOUTH MINISTRY INSTITUTE IS A ONE DAY SEMINAR/TRAINING DONE AT REGIONAL LOCATIONS AROUND THE MID-WEST THAT IS OPEN TO BOTH TENTMAKERS NETWORK MEMBERS AS WELL AS CHURCHES NOT AFFILIATED WITH TENTMAKERS. LEADERSHIP QUEST IS A ONE WEEK SUMMER WILDERNESS BASED LEADERSHIP TRAINING THAT IS OFFERED TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.LAY MINISTRY TRAINING - TENTMAKERS LAY MINISTRY TRAINING COURSES HELP LAY PEOPLE OF CONGREGATIONS DEVELOP CONFIDENCE AND SKILLS IN RELATIONSHIP BUILDING, CONNUNICATION, MANAGEMENT, MOTIVATION, DECISION-MAKING, AND SPECIFIC MINISTRY SKILLS (SMALL GROUPS, ETC.) BY PROVIDING WEEKEND TRAININGS CONDUCTED AT CHURCHES OR A SITE OF THE CHURCHES CHOOSING. NEHEMIAH LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE IS A THREE WEEK TRAINING FOR PASTORS AND OTHER KEY MINISTRY LEADERS THAT GOES BEYOND THE LAY MINISTRY TRAININGS BY GOING MORE IN DEPTH AND ADDING SKILLS IN RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS AND LONG RANGE PLANNING.
