MASWCD IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION WHICH EXISTS TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP AND A COMMON VOICE FOR MINNESOTA'S SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS AND TO MAINTAIN A POSITIVE, RESULTS-ORIENTED RELATIONSHIP WITH RULE MAKING AGENCIES, PARTNERS AND LEGISLATORS; EXPANDING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE DISTRICTS SO THEY MAY CARRY OUT EFFECTIVE CONSERVATION PROGRAMS.

ANNUAL CONVENTION AND TRADE SHOW - THIS EVENT IS HELD ANNUALLY AND ATTENDED BY REPRESENTATIVES AND STAFF OF MINNESOTA SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS. THE CONVENTION INCLUDES WORK ASSOCIATED WITH VARIOUS GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS RELATED TO TRAINING, INFORMATION AND EDUCATION OF SWCD STAFF AND BOARD MEMBERS. IT ALSO INVOLVES SECURING SPEAKERS FOR VARIOUS EVENTS, AND PROVIDING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO THE SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS.MISCELLANEOUS ACTIVITIES SUCH AS THE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE, AND LEGISLATIVE DAY AT CAPITAL PROVIDE A FORUM REGARDING WATER QUALITY ISSUES AND EDUCATE AND FOSTER AWARENESS AMONG MEMBERSHIP REGARDING SOIL AND WATER QUALITY PROGRAMS.
