PROVIDED A MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAM OPEN TO THE PUBLIC TO PERPETUATE THE MEMORY OF DECEASED VETERANS AND TO COMFORT THEIR SURVIVORS. THE PROGRAM CONSISTED OF MUSIC PROVIDED BY THE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL BAND, WELCOME BY COMMANDER SNOW, POST COLORS BY THE LEGION POST 423, NATIONAL ANTHEM SUNG, INVOCATION, SPEAKER, PRESENTATION OF QUILTS OF HONOR, ROLL CALL, LAYING OF MEMORIAL BRICKS/WREATH BY BOY SCOUT TROUP 53, TAPS, SOLO, BENEDICTION AND RETIRE THE COLORS. APPROXIMATELY 150 - 200 ATTENDED THIS EVENT. CANDY IS PURCHASED AND VOLUNTEERS FILL EGGS FOR AN ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT FOR KIDS THATS HELD IN THE PARK. FRUIT AND CANDY BAGS ARE HANDED OUT BY SANTA AND HIS ELVES WHEN THEY VISIT TOWN ON A HORSE DRAWN WAGON EVERY DECEMBER.


THE LEGION MADE SIGNIFICANT DONATIONS TO SUPPORT THE LOCAL SCHOOL ACTIVITIES, YOUTH ACTIVITIES AT AREA CHURCHES, FOOD SHELF, BOY SCOUTS AND LEADERSHIP CAMPS.
