TO PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY PROGRAMMING AND SOCIAL SERVICES THAT FACILITATE THE GROWTH OF A DIVERSE, RESPONSIBLE AND WELCOMING COMMUNITY.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

FACILITY USE-NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE COMMUNITY CENTER SERVES AS A COMMUNITY MEETING PLACE FOR OVER 35 COMMUNITY GROUPS AND ASSOCIATIONS EACH YEAR. THE CENTER OFFERS VARIOUS MEETING ROOMS AND A GYM SPACE TO THE PUBLIC FOR NOMINAL FEES TO HELP OFFSET COSTS. EACH YEAR OVER 3,000 PEOPLE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FACILITY.


ADULT SERVICES-NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE COMMUNITY CENTER PROVIDES MANY PROGRAMS AND SERVICES YEAR ROUND FOR THE COMMUNITY. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING, MENTORING, AND ENRICHMENT FOR ELEMENTARY TO HIGH SCHOOL YOUTHS, OLDER ADULT WELLNESS AND ENRICHMENT, COMMUNITY EVENTS, MEAL NIGHTS, YOGA CLASSES, LANGUAGE CLASSES, AND SPEAKER SERIES. NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE'S ESSENTIAL SERVICES INCLUDE A FOOD PANTRY, MONTHLY MEALS, TRANSORTATION ASSISTANCE, COMPUTER LAB, AND SEASONAL DRIVES. EACH YEAR OVER 2,000 PEOPLE PARTICPATE.


YOUTH PROGRAMS-YEAR ROUND YOUTH PROGRAMS FOR AGES 0 THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL. NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE OFFERS DAILY AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMMING, MENTORING, SUMMER CAMPS, TODDLER PROGRAMS, YOUTH EMPLOYMENT AND OTHER SOCIAL/RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES INCLUDING ENRICHMENT, GAMES, ART, AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. 80% OF PARTICIPANTS COME FROM LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS AND ARE PEOPLE OF COLOR.
