LEGISLATIVE SERVICES HAS TWO REGISTERED LOBBYISTS THAT ALLOWS FOR THREE AFSCME COUNCILS (COUNCIL 24, COUNCIL 40, AND COUNCIL 48) TO ADDRESS THE STATE BUDGET AND OTHER LEGISLATIVES ISSUES THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO THE MEMBERS THEY REPRESENT. THE LOBBYISTS PROVIDE A WEEKLY LEGISLATIVE REPORT THAT IS DISTRIBUTED TO THE THREE COUNCILS, WHICH THEN PROVIDE THE REPORT TO ITS MEMBERS AND RETIREES. THE THREE WISCONSIN COUNCILS HAVE ORGANIZED OVER 400 LOCALS AND CHAPTERS THAT HAVE APPROXIMATELY 19,000 MEMBERS AND RETIREES.
AFSCME REPORTS IS A NEWSPAPER WRITTEN, EDITED, AND PUBLISHED BY COUNCIL 11 FOR COUNCIL 24, 40 AND 48 MEMBERS AND RETIREES. AFSCME REPORTS IS PUBLISHED MONTHLY (EXCEPT FOR THE JULY/AUGUST COMBINED ISSUE), AND HAS A CIRCULATION OF APPROXIMATELY 19,000.
