TO IMPROVE TRUCK SAFETY BY PROVIDING MICHIGAN'S TRUCKING INDUSTRY AND CITIZENS OF MICHIGAN WITH EFFECTIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, COLLABORATION, AND BY ADDRESSING SIGNIFICANT TRUCK SAFETY ISSUES.

EDUCATIONAL PUBLICATIONS AND AWARENESS PROGRAMS INFORM AND TRAIN DRIVERS THROUGH CLASSROOM SAFETY TRAINING, DRIVER PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT, DIGITAL SAFETY UPDATES, MOBILE TRUCK SIMULATOR PROGRAM, AND VARIOUS OTHER SAFETY PUBLICATIONS AND PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO PROMOTE TRUCK AND PASSENGER CAR SAFETY AWARENESS. (APPROXIMATELY 4,000 PARTICIPANTS/YEAR) IN ADDITION, THE CENTER CONTINUED TO SEND OUT INFORMATIONAL PACKETS UPON REQUEST. INFORMATIONAL PACKETS INCLUDED A DVD AND BOOKLET TO ADDRESS SAFE DRIVING AROUND TRUCKS. THESE ITEMS WERE ALSO DISTRIBUTED AT MANY EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ALONG WITH OTHER RESOURCE MATERIALS.


THE TRUCK DRIVER'S GUIDEBOOK IS A DETAILED GUIDEBOOK FOR THE TRUCK DRIVER OUTLINING THE BASIC RULES AND REGULATIONS COVERING A COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE. (APPROXIMATELY 20,000 COPIES/YEAR)
