TO HOST AND MAINTAIN KOBOTOOLBOX, A DATA COLLECTION, MANAGEMENT, AND VISUALIZATION PLATFORM USED GLOBALLY FOR HUMANITARIAN ACTIONS AND TO SUPPORT OPEN-SOURCE DATA SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY FOR GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT, PEACE, HUMAN RIGHTS AND HUMANITARIAN ACTION.

IN 2021 KOBO PROVIDED DIRECT SUPPORT TO MORE THAN 5,000 CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS WORKING ON CHARITABLE CAUSES BY PROVIDING OUR KOBOTOOLBOX SOFTWARE FREE OF CHARGE. THIS INCLUDED PRIMARILY ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDING HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND PUBLIC HEALTH RESPONSE. DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WE SAW A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN THE AMOUNT OF DATA OUR USERS COLLECTED TO MEASURE THE SOCIAL AND HUMANITARIAN EFFECTS AROUND THE WORLD, AND TO TRACK THEIR RESPECTIVE RESPONSES. AS A RESULT OF KOBO'S PROVISION OF KOBOTOOLBOX AS A FREE SOFTWARE SERVICE, HUMANITARIAN AND OTHER CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS WERE ABLE TO MEASURE THE NEEDS OF POPULATIONS IN NEED, TRACK PROGRAM DELIVERY, AND EVALUATE THEIR IMPACT.
