JUST TRANSITION LISTENING PROJECTTHE GOAL OF THE LISTENING PROJECT IS TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE CONCERNS AND NEEDS OF RICHMOND COMMUNITIES THAT HAVE HISTORICALLY SUFFERED THE GREATEST HARM FROM GENERATION OF FOSSIL FUEL OPERATIONS IN OUR CITY OF RICHMOND.HERE ARE HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR IMPACTS:*CULTIVATED 10 BIPOC YOUTH/YOUNG ADULT ORGANIZERS WITH DIRECT SKILLS TRAINING FROM CANVASSING TO DIGITAL ORGANIZING TO CREATE A NEW ERA OF LEADERSHIP IN THE RICHMOND PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE*SURVEYED 350 RICHMOND ENGLISH AND SPANISH SPEAKING RESIDENTS IN AREAS THAT ARE MOST HARMED BY POLLUTION ABOUT THE CLIMATE CRISIS AND EMPOWERED COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO SHARE THEIR STORIES ON THE LISTENING PROJECT POSCAAST*DEVELOPED THE LISTENING PROJECT CURRICULUM AS AN ACCOMPANIMENT TO THE PODCAST AS A 21ST-CENTURY EDUCATIONAL TOOL FOR A DIGITAL STORYTELLING, ORAL HISTORY AND CULTURAL PRESERVATION, AND ART ACTIVISM AS WAYS TO ACTIVATE YOUTH IN OUR COMMUNITY TO FIGHT CLIMATE CRISIS IN RICHMOND


REGENARATION GENERATIONREGENERATION RICHMOND IS A YOUTH-LED PROJECT OF THE RICHMOND PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE THAT SEEKS TO GIVE MARGINALIZED YOUTH THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISCUSS WHAT DIRECTION WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE RICHMOND HEAD IN THE FUTURE. DISCUSSION TOPICS INCLUDE ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE, RACIAL EQUITY AND TRANSITIONING FROM AN EXTRACTIVE ECONOMY TO A REGENERATIVE ECONOMY.


COLLABORATE TO CO-LIBERATE ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENTCOLLABORATE TO CO-LIBERATE: STRUCTURES FOR DEMOCARATIC ORGANIZATIONS IS A 12 MONTH ONLINE COHORT-BASED LEARNING JOURNEY OFFERED BY THE NONPROFIT DEMOCRACY NETWORK. THE RPA SENT A REPRESENTATIVE TO THIS TRAINING SERIES WITH AN INTENTION TO APPLY LEARNING TOWARDS THE RPAS INTERNAL ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURES TO IMPROVE DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION


CALIFORNIA EQUITABLE HOME ELECTRIFICATION PROGRAM - RPA PARTNERED WITH CONTRA COSTA COUNTY THROUGH THE CALIFORNIA EQUITABLE HOUSING ELECTRIFICATION PROGRM. THIS REGIONAL GROUP LOOKED AT THE IMPACTS OF ELECTRIFICATION TO SUPPORT COUNTY PLANNING FOR EQUITABLE ENERGY TRANSITIONS.
