BEGINNING IN THE 2017 YEAR AND CONTINUING THROUGH THE CURRENT YEAR,BROTHERS KEEPER MET THEIR GOAL OF IMPLEMENTING A MODIFIED BUSINESSENTERPRISE WHERE ITEMS WHICH ARE HAND-MADE BY OUR PARTICIPANTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SALE BY SUGGESTED DONATION AS A FUNDRAISER IN THE COMMUNITY. ADDITIONALLY, THESE HAND-MADE ITEMS (DOG CHEW TOYS,COASTERS, NOTE CARDS) ARE AVAILABLE ON AN ONLINE SHOP FOR SALE BY SUGGESTED DONATION.THERE ARE RANDOM SALES OF THESE ITEMS AS THEY MADE BY THE PARTICIPANTS.NO INVENTORY IS MAINTAINED. WORKING ON THESE HAND-MADE ITEMS GIVES THE STUDENTS MEANINGFUL WORK TO DO; GIVES THEM A JOB; AND ALLOWS THEM TO SEE THE RESULTS OF THEIR LABOR. WORKING ON THESE HAND-MADE ITEMS GIVES THE PARTICIPANTS A REASON TO GET UP IN THE MORNING, A COMMUNITY TO INTERACT WITH WHEN THE ITEMS ARE SOLD, AND SOMETHING PURPOSEFUL TO DO IN LIFE. THIS IS JUST ONE PART OF OUR PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT TO ENRICH THE LIVES OF THESE ADULTS.
