THE ASSOCIATION'S PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE IS TO PROMOTE THE INTEREST OF AGRICULTURE IN THE STATE OF ILLINOIS BY PROVIDING A BROAD PORTFOLIO OF THIRD-PARTY SERVICES TO THE AGRI-FOOD INDUSTRY, WHICH INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, SEED, FEED AND FOOD. THE OBJECTIVE SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY EITHER ACTING INDEPENDENTLY OR IN COOPERATION WITH OTHER ENTITIES.

THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES FIELD INSPECTION AND CERTIFICATION FOR SEED COMPANIES. THE GREENHOUSE OFFERS A VARIETY OF SEED QUALITY TESTS AND PLANT BREEDING SERVICES. THE PUERTO RICO WINTER FARM WAS STARTED TO SATISFY THE ORGANIZATION FOR ECONOMIC COOPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT (OECD) POST-CONTROL REQUIREMENT FOR CORN. THE IDENTITY PRESERVED GRAIN LAB PROVIDES SERVICES TO IDENTIFY CERTAIN MARKETABLE GRAIN TRAITS THAT CANNOT BE EASILY DETECTED, SUCH AS CHEMICAL PROPERTIES, HARD ENDOSPERM PROPERTIES IN CORN, POSSIBLE DAMAGE DUE TO DRYING AND OTHER HIDDEN CHARACTERISTICS.
