THE MALAYSIAN CLUB OF CHICAGO (MCC) HOSTS A MINIMUM OF TWO EVENTS PER YEAR; ONE IN THE SPRING TO CELEBRATE LUNAR NEW YEAR AND ANOTHER IN THE FALL DURING AUGUST/SEPTEMBER TO CELEBRATE MERDEKA DAY/MALAYSIA DAY. MCC HAD ALSO HOSTED HARI RAYA (MALAY NEW YEAR) CELEBRATION IN MAY/JUNE AND NOVEMBER FOR DEEPAVALI (INDIAN NEW YEAR) CELEBRATIONS. MCC HAS BEEN A MEMBER OF ASIAN AMERICAN COALITION OF CHICAGO (AACC) SINCE 2002. AACC IS A NON-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION FORMED BY COMMUNITY LEADERS FROM OVER 16 COUNTRIES. THE MISSION OF AACC IS TO UNITE ALL ASIAN AMERICANS INTO A SIGNIFICANT FORCE FOR STRENGTHENING THE ASIAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY IN THE UNITED STATES; ENRICHING ASIAN CULTURAL VALUES, AND RECOGNIZING THE IMPORTANCE OF ASIAN AMERICAN CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE AMERICAN DEMOCRACY AND ECONOMY.
