THRIFT STORE/JOB READINESS PROGRAM - PROVIDE FREE AND/OR LOW COST MATERIAL SUPPORT SUCH AS CLOTHING, HOME FURNISHINGS, ETC. TO PREGNANT WOMEN AND NEW MOTHERS. THIS PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES HANDS-ON WORK EXPERIENCE, LIFE SKILLS TRAINING, AND MENTORING FOR PREGNANT WOMEN AND NEW MOTHERS WHO ARE UNEMPLOYED OR UNDEREMPLOYED. 4 PEOPLE WERE SERVED IN OUR JOB READINESS PROGRAM IN 2022.
COUNSELING - PROVIDE INFORMATION TO PREGNANT WOMEN REGARDING ALTERNATIVES TO ABORTION, INCLUDING PARENTING AND ADOPTION. PROVIDE PARENTING EDUCATION TO NEW PARENTS. PROVIDED INFORMATION AND EDUCATION SERVICES TO 160 CLIENTS IN 2022.
DEVELOPMENT & PUBLIC RELATIONS - CARING PREGNANCY CENTER STAFF ATTENDS CONFERENCES AND EDUCATIONAL CLASSES TO BETTER EQUIP THEM TO PROVIDE SERVICE AND ASSISTANCE TO THEIR CLIENTS. THE CENTER ALSO SENDS NEWSLETTERS TO CLIENTS AND SUPPORTERS OF THE ORGANIZATION WHICH HIGHLIGHTS ACCOMPLISHMENTS, NEEDS, AND GOALS OF THE CARING PREGNANCY CENTER AS WELL AS INFORMATION ON UPCOMING EVENTS.
BABY CRIB/SLEEP SAFETY PROGRAM - PROVIDED PREGNANT WOMEN WITH PARENTING INFORMATION, SLEEP SAFETY EDUCATION AND A NEW INFANT CRIB. PROGRAM ITEMS SPENT FOR THE SLEEP SAFETY PROGRAM FOR 2022 WAS 2,492. 30 CLIENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE SLEEP SAFETY CRIB PROGRAM IN 2022. LIFE SKILLS/TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM - A NEW PROGRAM THAT SUPPLIES PREGNANT WOMEN AND FAMILIES WITH TRANSITIONAL HOUSING WHILE TEACHING LIFE SKILLS WAS STARTED IN 2021. TOTAL EXPENSES INCLUDING RENT AND UTILITIES FOR THE HOUSING UNITS AS WELL AS DEPRECIATION FOR LEASEHOLD IMPROVEMENTS TO GET THE HOUSING UNITS READY FOR DWELLING FOR OUR FAMILIES TOTALLED 9,822. TRANSITIONAL HOUSING HAD 5 PARTICIPANTS IN 2022, OF WHICH 3 SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE PROGRAM AND MOVED ON TO PERMANENT HOUSING.
