TO PREPARE YOUTH AGES 14-25 FOR SUCCESS IN THE WORKPLACE. YOUTH JOB CENTER PROVIDES JOB-READINESS, PLACEMENT, AND EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH EMPLOYERS.

CAREER PATHWAYS PROGRAM - YJC RECEIVES FUNDING FROM THE CHICAGO COOK WORKFORCE PARTNERSHIP. THIS PROGRAM HELPS JOB SEEKERS WHO FACE SIGNIFICANT BARRIERS GAIN THE SUPPORT, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION NECESSARY TO OBTAIN AND RETAIN EMPLOYMENT. QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MAY RECEIVE UP TO TWO YEARS OF FUNDING TO RECEIVE TRAINING, ATTEND COLLEGES AND TECHNICAL PROGRAMS OR ENTER JOBS WITH ONGOING SUPPORT. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES SUBSIDIZED INTERNSHIPS AND WORK EXPERIENCES WITH EMPLOYER PARTNERS THROUGH ITS CAREER PATHWAYS PROGRAM.


HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM - YOUTH JOB CENTER HAS STAFF IN 5 CHICAGO HIGH SCHOOLS. IN THIS PROGRAM, YJC PROVIDES WORKSHOPS AND TRAINING WITH THE SCHOOL DAY. THE PROGRAM CONSISTS OF CAREER EXPLORATION AND DISCERNMENT FOR POST HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES.


THIS WAY AHEAD PROGRAM IS A PARTNERSHIP WITH GAP AND OLD NAVY. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES TRAINING AND SUMMER INTERNSHIPS THROUGHOUT THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. THIS PROGRAM IS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AGES 16-18 WHO ARE RECRUITED FROM MANY HIGH SCHOOLS IN CHICAGO.
