THE MAJOR PURPOSES ARE ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH A NUMBER OF NATIONAL AND REGIONAL PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS LISTED BELOW. ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL SEMINAR HELD IN THE FALL AND PROBATE COURSE HELD IN THE SPRING FACILITATE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS AND NEW APPROACHES FOR IMPROVING ADMINISTRATION OF PROBATE COURTS. NATIONAL COLLEGE OF PROBATE JUDGES PROVIDES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO PROBATE JUDGES AND COURTS HAVING PROBATE JURISDICTION.

STICKS AND STONES: ETHICAL LIMITS ON HOW PROBATE JUDGES CAN RESPOND TO CRITICISM. 2. THE SPECIAL PERIL DOCTRINE: CATASTROPHIC EVENTS REQUIRING A FINDING OF DEATH AND THE PROTECTION OF THE DECEDENT'S DEPENDENTS. 3. DON'T SAY IT DO NOT HIT SEND OR JUDGES BEHAVING BADLY AND OTHER WAYS TO LEAVE THE BENCH EARLIER THAN PLANNED. 4. ALTERNATIVE COMPETENCY PROGRAM - ENDING THE CRIMINALIZATION OF MENTAL ILLNESS. 5.
