HUMAN SERVICES: HOSC MOBILIZES PEOPLE TO LEND THEIR TIME, TALENTS, AND VOICES TO INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF NONPROFITS AND SCHOOLS AND DRIVE CHANGE IN 44 COMMUNITIES. HOSC REFERS VOLUNTEERS TO COMMUNITY PARTNERS BY HARNESSING THE POWER OF VOLUNTEERISM TO BENEFIT HIGH-NEEDS STUDENTS, ENABLE VULNERABLE POPULATIONS TO AGE IN THEIR HOMES AND, IMPROVE THE WELL-BEING OF SENIORS. ANNUALLY HOSC CONNECTS 3000+ PEOPLE THROUGH ITS 24/7 SEARCHABLE DATABASE MATCHING VOLUNTEERS WITH OPPORTUNITIES THAT BEST FIT THEIR INTERESTS, SCHEDULES, AND LOCATION SO THEY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THEIR COMMUNITY. HOSC IS AN AMERICORPS SENIOR GRANTEE, THE LARGEST SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM IN THE COUNTRY.


SCHOOL PROGRAMS: HOSCS SCHOOL PROGRAMS ANNUALLY HELP HUNDREDS OF HIGH-NEEDS STUDENTS GET ON TRACK TO GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL BY MOBILIZING VOLUNTEERS TO OFFER TUTORING, SERVICE LEARNING, AND SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING. THESE PROGRAMS ADDRESS RACIAL AND SOCIOECONOMIC INEQUITIES, CHIEFLY SERVING LOW-INCOME STUDENTS OF COLORMANY OF WHOM HAVE LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENCY AND RECEIVE SPECIAL EDUCATION.


TRAINING: HOSC WORKS WITH PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS, CORPORATIONS, AND INDIVIDUALS TO PROVIDE TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES THAT WILL OFFER WAYS TO SHARE THEIR TIME, TALENTS, AND VOICES. TRAININGS INCLUDE WAYS PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS CAN UTILIZE VOLUNTEERS TO GROW WITH LIMITED RESOURCES. CORPORATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS LEARN HOW THEY CAN UTILIZE THEIR TALENTS TO ASSIST OTHERS. SESSIONS ALSO PROVIDE THE MOST RELEVANT INFORMATION AFFECTING ORGANIZATIONS AND THE COMMUNITY.
