OUR BACK TO OUR ROOTS PROGRAM FOCUSED ON WORKING AND FARMING THE NEW LAND IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FOOD TO THOSE IN NEED BUT ALSO TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE TO LEARN FARMING. WE ALSO CONDUCTED HERITAGE SKILLS CLASSES, NATURAL CHILD BIRTHING CLASSES; ATTENDED A RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION'S WINTER PROGRAM TO LEARN HOW TO PROPERLY USE THE LAND, RESOURCES, GRANTS, ETC IN ORDER TO BEST STEWARD FIREKEEPER'S ACREAGE. THE STAFF ALSO BECAME CERTIFIED IN CPS/WILDERNESS TRAINING/FIRST AID. WE BEGAN A PODCAST THIS IS MULTI-PURPOSE, AUDIO/VIDEO THAT WILL PROVIDE BASIC INSTRUCTION ON HERITAGE SKILLS. WE CONDUCTED AN ANTI-KIDNAPPING-HOSTAGE SURVIVAL TRAINING IN CONNECTION WITH A LOCAL MMIW PROGRAM.


OUR MANDATE 25 PROGRAM EXISTS TO FEED THE HUNGRY THROUGH CROPS GROWN ON FIREKEEPER'S ACREAGE, ANIMALS RAISED ON THE ACREAGE AND BUILDING BRIDGES WITH AREA ORGANIZATIONS TO MEET THE NEEDS IN AREAS OUTSIDE OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY. OUR ELDERS BEGAN A MONTHLY COMMUNITY OUTREACH WITH A LOCAL RESERVATION IN NEW MEXICO AND HELD A FOOD DRIVE THAT SERVED OVER 80 PEOPLE. WE BEGAN WORK ON RAISED BED GARDENS AND A CHICKEN COOP TO PROVIDE FRESH VEGETABLES AND EGGS TO WIDOWS IN THE AREA.
