CITY GRAZING PROVIDES SUSTAINABLE LAND MANAGEMENT SERVICES VIA GOAT GRAZING, WITH ADDITIONAL PROGRAM SERVICES OF COMMUNITY BENEFIT, INCLUDING GREEN JOBS WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, K-12 SUSTAINABILITY EDUCATION, AND GENERAL SUSTAINABILITY EDUCATION AND STRESS-REDUCTION.

SUSTAINABLE LAND MANAGEMENT VIA GOAT GRAZING: PROVIDING REDUCED FIRE RISK, TOPSOIL ENRICHMENT, PROMOTING NATIVE CALIFORNIA PLANT GROWTH, AND COMBATING CLIMATE SHIFT ON 56 ACRES AT 39 GRAZING SITES. AN ESTIMATED 145,000 MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL POPULATION WERE POSITIVELY AFFECTED BY OUR WORK, EITHER BENEFITING FROM REDUCED FIRE RISK, LEARNING ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS OF GOAT GRAZING, OR EXPERIENCING THE STRESS-REDUCTION OF VOLUNTEERING OR VISITING WITH OUR APPROXIMATELY 100 ADOPTED GOATS.


WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT - RELATIONSHIP-BUILDING WITH WORKFORCE ORGANIZATIONS, CONTINUED TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT. OUR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIPS AND HIRING PRACTICES TOUCHED APPROXIMATELY 60 PARTICIPANTS AND PROVIDED SKILLS, TRAINING, AND FAIR WAGES TO SIX.
