TO PROMOTE AND MAINTAIN EFFECTIVE FIRE MANAGEMENT SERVICE THROUGH PREVENTION, PRE-SUPPRESSION AND SUPPRESSION OF NATURAL COVER FIRES AND THROUGH THE USE OF PRESCRIBED FIRE. PROMOTE COMMON SERVICES (FFEP, TRAINING, FIRE MANAGEMENT EQUIPMENT, AND MUTUAL AID.

Part 3 - Line 4a

ASSISTANCE TO RURAL FIRE DEPARTMENTS IN ACQUIRING FEDERAL EXCESS EQUIPMENT FOR WILDLAND FIRE PREPARATION, READINESS AND CONTROL. ASSIST DEPARTMENTS WITH MANAGEMENT OF FEDERAL EXCESS EQUIPMENT AND PROVIDE TRAINING TO FIREFIGHTERS, NATURAL RESOURCE PROFESSIONALS, AND PRIVATE CITIZENS IN PRESCRIBED AND WILDLAND FIREFIGHTING TECHNIQUES. PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR TWO INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS TO COMPLETE THIS.


THE COMPACT PROMOTES FIRE PREVENTION THROUGH PROGRAMS AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF MATERIALS TO SCHOOLS AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. THE TARGETED POPULATION IS K-5. MATERIALS INCLUDE MOSTLY SMOKEY BEAR MATERIALS.


FIRE TRAINING WAS PROVIDED TO RURAL AND VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS AS WELL AS STATE PERSONNEL. DUE TO COVID THE IN-PERSON TRAINING WAS HELD REMOTELY. MONIES ARE PROVIDED TO HELP FUND THE TRAINING INCLUDING ACADEMY COORDINATOR, TRAINERS, AND PARTICIPANTS.
