INDIEC ACTIVELY PURSUES ENERGY POLICIES THAT INCLUDE THE PRESERVATION OF EXISTING INDUSTRIAL AND ECONOMIC BASE, AND PROMOTE ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE STATE OF INDIANA. ENERGY POLICY DEVELOPS IN MANY DIFFERENT ARENAS, INCLUDING ADMINISTRATIVE, LEGISLATIVE, AND REGULATORY BODIES. INDIEC TIES ALL THE ARENAS TOGETHER. THROUGH INDIEC, MEMBERS CAN STAY INFORMED AND MAKE SURE THAT LARGE CONSUMERS HAVE GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS REPRESENTATION AND REPORTING.
INDIEC SPONSORS TECHNICAL WORKSHOPS AND AN ANNUAL ENERGY CONFERENCE TO INCREASE KNOWLEDGE OF ENERGY AND UTILITY ISSUES. TECHNICAL WORKSHOPS ARE HELD EVERY OTHER YEAR ON TIME-SENSITIVE ENERGY TOPICS. WITH AN AVERAGE ATTENDANCE OF 65, WORKSHOP PROGRAMS BRING TOGETHER INDIEC MEMBERS, KEY REGULATORS FROM THE INDIANA UTILITY REGULATORY COMMISSION, AND INDIANA'S OFFICE OF CONSUMER COUNSELOR. THE ENERGY CONFERENCE IS A ONE-DAY ANNUAL EVENT THAT PRESENTS THOUGHT-PROVOKING SPEAKERS AND TOPICS TO OVER 125 ENERGY AND POLICY STAKEHOLDERS, OF WHICH 16-20 ARE INDIEC MEMBER COMPANIES. THIS ANNUAL GATHERING BRINGS TOGETHER DECISION-MAKERS FROM A BROAD SPECTRUM OF BUSINESS SECTORS INCLUDING: ENERGY COMMUNITY, INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING, POLICYMAKERS, FINANCE, ENGINEERING.
