THE INDIANA FAMILY HEALTH COUNCIL PROMOTES AND FACILITATES FAMILY PLANNING AND REPRODUCTIVE SERVICES FOR THOSE IN NEED.

THE INDIANA FAMILY HEALTH COUNCIL, INC. (IFHC) IS THE TITLE X GRANTEE IN INDIANA AND ILLINOIS. IN 2021, IFHC FUNDED AND WORKED WITH 13 AGENCIES IN INDIANA TO DIRECTLY PROVIDE FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES IN 26 CLINICS, INCLUDING 3 CLINICS DIRECTLY OPERATED BY IHFC IN INDIANAPOLIS, MARION, AND NEW CASTLE. THE CLINICS ARE OPEN TO ALL REGARDLESS OF RELIGION, RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN, DISABILITY, AGE, SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER IDENTITY, SEX CHARACTERISTICS, NUMBER OF PREGNANCIES, MARITAL STATUS, INCOME, OR HEALTH INSURANCE. SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE ON A SLIDING FEE SCALE. IN 2021, 13,059 UNDUPLICATED CLIENTS RECEIVED FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES THROUGH 24,658 CLINICAL VISITS. 62.76% OF THE CLIENTS WERE AT OR BELOW POVERTY LEVEL AND WERE PROVIDED THE SERVICE AT NO CHARGE. IN 2021, THE PROGRAM NOT ONLY PROVIDED A WIDE RANGE OF FDA APPROVED CONTRACEPTIVES BUT ALSO PROVIDED 3,425 PAP SMEARS, 3,556 BREAST EXAMS, 11,087 GONORRHEA/CHLAMYDIA TESTS, 2,767 SYPHILIS TESTS, AND 7,428 HIV TESTS TO CLIENTS IN INDIANA. IFHC WAS AWARDED THE TITLE X GRANT IN LATE SEPTEMBER 2020 TO PROVIDE FAMILY PLANNING AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH SERVICES IN NINE COUNTIES IN ILLINOIS. IFHC HAS BEEN PREPARING FOR OPENING TWO CLINICS AND ONE MOBILE UNIT IN ILLINOIS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND EXPECTS TO START SEEING CLIENTS IN MID-2022.


THE INDIANA FAMILY HEALTH COUNCIL, INC. (IFHC) RECEIVES THE SOCIAL SERVICES BLOCK GRANT AND TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES FUNDS AWARDED BY THE INDIANA STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH (ISDH) FOR USE IN 13 AGENCIES FOR THE INDIANA TITLE X PROGRAM. THE PROGRAMS HAVE MERGED SERVICES AND MONITORING ACTIVITIES UNDER IFHC. STARTING OCTOBER 2009, IFHC, ISDH, FAMILY AND SOCIAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION, AND DEPARTMENT OF CHILD SERVICES FORMED THE INDIANA FAMILY PLANNING PARTNERSHIP WHICH PLACED ALL OF THE FEDERAL FAMILY PLANNING FUNDS UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF THE INDIANA FAMILY HEALTH COUNCIL. ALL SERVICES STATED IN THE TITLE X DESCRIPTION ARE APPLICABLE TO THE ISDH GRANTS.
