IN JULY, WE WERE ABLE TO GET BACK TO IN PERSON EVENTS, WHILE STILL TAKING PRECAUTIONS FOR THE HEALTH OF OUR MEMBERS. WE ALSO LAUNCHED OUR NEW NOIA DINING NIGHT OUT IN OCTOBER. EACH MONTH, MEMBERS GATHERED AT A DIFFERENT SELECTED ITALIAN RESTAURANTS IN THE GREATER CLEVELAND AREA FOR AN INFORMAL DINNER.JULY 19 - ANNUAL GOLF OUTING 96 GOLFERS PARTICIPATED AT IN OUR OUTING AT MAYFIELD COUNTRY CLUB. THE AFTERNOON WAS GREAT AND WE WERE ABLE TO RAISE $20,000 FOR THE FRANK J. FEOLA, PH.D., LEGACY FUND SCHOLARSHIP.(CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)AUGUST 12 - SUMMER CELEBRATION 129 GUESTS GATHERED FOR OUR FIRST EVER SUMMER CELEBRATION AT THE SHOREBY CLUB. THE EVENING WAS BEAUTIFUL AND FILLED WITH FOOD, FUN, FAMILIES, AND LIVE ITALIAN MUSIC.AUGUST 26 - BOCCE NIGHT100 PEOPLE ATTENDED OUR ANNUAL BOCCE NIGHT AT THE ALTA HOUSE IN LITTLE ITALY. IT WAS A FUN NIGHT OF COMPETITION, LAUGHTER, AND PIZZA FROM MAXI'S. TEAM DIFONZO/ DIVINCENZO WON THE TOURNAMENT.SEPTEMBER 30 - NOIAPERITIVO25 MEMBERS GOT TOGETHER ON THE ROOFTOP OF THE BEACON IN DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND. VIEWS WERE TAKEN IN AND SNACKS PREPARED BY ANTHONY QUAGLIATA WERE ENJOYED.OCTOBER 11 - COLUMBUS DAY75 PROUD ITALIAN AMERICANS FEASTED TOGETHER ON NIDO ITALIA'S PATIO FOR OUR TRADITIONAL COLUMBUS DAY LUNCHEON IN LITTLE ITALY FOLLOWING THE ANNUAL PARADE.DECEMBER 16 - PIER W CHRISTMAS PARTY135 GUESTS CELEBRATED THE HOLIDAY SEASON AT PIER W FOR OUR ANNUAL EVENT. OUR NUMBERS WERE LOWER THAN USUAL DUE TO A COVID-19 OUTBREAK. WE ARE HOPING FOR MORE MEMBERS TO ATTEND IN DECEMBER 2022.JANUARY 13 - COOKING WITH ANTHONY15 COUPLES JOINED US FOR A VIRTUAL COOKING CLASS WITH ANTHONY QUAGLIATA. THE ZOOM EVENT INCLUDED SOME GREAT RECIPES AND OUR FAVORITE CHEESE DISHES FROM MICELI'S DAIRY COMPANY.MARCH 10 - LA FESTA DELLA DONNA28 WOMEN OF NOIA CELEBRATED INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY AT THE MARBLE ROOM. THE EVENING HIGHLIGHTED OUR STRONG ITALIAN AMERICAN FEMALES AND A LOVELY MUSICAL PERFORMANCE.APRIL 2 - FAMIGLIA FUN! BUONA PASQUAA DOZEN NOIA FAMILIES SPENT TIME TOGETHER AT OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL FOR A FAMILY FUN EVENT FILLED WITH EASTER EGG DYING, AN EGG HUNT, AND DELICIOUS TRADITIONAL PASQUA TREATS.APRIL 9 - SERVICE EVENT12 MEMBERS VOLUNTEERED THEIR TIME AND PACKED FOOD FOR FAMILIES IN NEED AT THE CLEVELAND FOOD BANK.APRIL 26 - PROSPECT EVENT35 GUESTS GATHERED AT HYDE PARK IN BEACHWOOD TO DISCUSS NOIA AND MEET PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS OF THE FOUNDATION. WE ARE HAPPY TO HAVE WELCOMED IN 7 NEW MEMBERS FROM THIS EVENT.MAY 19TH - AN EVENING OF CONVERSATION IN LITTLE ITALY10 MEMBERS ENJOYED A PRESENTATION ON PHOTOGRAPHY IN ITALY BY DR. MARCELLO MELLINO AT THE NEW ITALIAN AMERICAN MUSEUM OF CLEVELAND.ALL EVENTS ARE PROMOTED ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA AND ON OUR WEBSITE. VISIT OUR PAGES FOR PHOTOS FROM THESE EVENTS.


IN FISCAL 22, WE KICKED OFF OUR NEW LEGACY FUND. THIS PROJECT ALLOWS PHILANTHROPIC DOLLARS AND VOLUNTEER OUTREACH TO GO DIRECTLY TOWARDS SUPPORTING AND PRESERVING GREATER CLEVELAND'S MOST VISIBLE AND VITAL PILLARS OF OUR ITALIAN AMERICAN HERITAGE. THE FIRST PILLAR IS OUR ITALIAN PARISHES. OUR FUND SUPPORTED HOLY REDEEMER, HOLY ROSARY, OUR LADY OF MT. CARMEL, AND ST. ROCCO. BELOW SUMMARIZES HOW THE PARISHES ALLOCATED THEIR GIFTED MONEY: HOLY REDEEMER: REPURPOSED THE FORMER CONVENT INTO A RELIGIOUS CENTER.(CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)HOLY ROSARY: MAINTAINED DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS OF THE PARISH; DUE TO EFFECT OF COVID-19, ACTIVITIES WERE SHUT DOWN AND THIS DIRECTLY EFFECTED PARISH FUNCTIONING.OUR LADY OF MT. CARMEL: HELPED FAMILIES OF THE PARISHES. ST. ROCCO: UPGRADED PARISH FACILITIES.THE SECOND PILLAR IS OUR HIGH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. WE OFFER OUR LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP TO ITALIAN AMERICAN STUDENTS WHO DEMONSTRATE A PASSION FOR GIVING BACK, HELPING OTHERS, AND TAKING AN ACTIVE ROLE IN ENSURING OUR LOCAL ITALIAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY CONTINUES TO THRIVE. OUR 4 YEARS/$5,000 ANNUAL AND RENEWABLE SCHOLARSHIP ENCOURAGES EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT, CULTURAL EXPERIENCES, LEADERSHIP, AND SERVICE-VALUES THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO NOIA AND THE ITALIAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY. WE HAVE STUDENT RECIPIENTS FROM ARCHBISHOP HOBAN, ELYRIA CATHOLIC, PADUA FRANCISCAN, AND WALSH JESUIT HIGH SCHOOLS.THE THIRD PILLAR IS CLEVELAND'S LITTLE ITALY. WE ARE CONTINUING TO REINVEST IN OUR LOCAL AND HISTORICAL ITALIAN NEIGHBORHOOD. WE ARE DEDICATED TO ENSURING SAFE SURROUNDINGS FOR OUR VISITORS AND WANT TO SEE A THRIVING ENVIRONMENT FOR A PLACE THAT MANY NATIVE ITALIANS CALL HOME. DOLLARS WERE USED FOR OUR BEAUTIFICATION OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND EXECUTING DECISIONS FOR THE AREA. THE FOURTH PILLAR IS OUR RESPONSIVE GRANTS. THESE GRANTS SEEK TO ADVANCE ITALIAN INFLUENCED ARTISTIC AND COMMUNITY VENTURES THAT ALIGN WITH OUR MISSION. THIS YEAR WE WERE ABLE TO SUPPORT THE CLEVELAND OPERA THEATER.
