COMMUNITY BASED LESSONS AND CLASSES FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS IN MUSIC AND THE ARTS.

OUTREACH PROGRAM - APPROXIMATELY 2,760 STUDENTS, PRE-K THROUGH OLDER ADULTS, DIRECTLY PARTICIPATED IN AROUND 1,700 OUTREACH CLASES AND RELATED ARTS ACTIVITIES AT 33 LOCATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY. THE IN-PERSON VENUES INCLUDED A SETTLEMENT HOUSE, ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, CHILD CARE CENTERS, RESIDENCE AND PROGRAM CENTERS FOR OLDER AND/OR DISABLED ADULTS,A HOMELESS SHELTER, AND CAMPS. THE PROGRAMMING OFFERED WAS GROUP CLASSES IN MUSIC, DANCE, VISUAL ARTS, AND THEATRE.


COMMUNITY-BASED PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS AND YOUTH DRUM CORP WERE SCHEDULED AT THE BROADWAY SCHOOL OF MUSIC AND THE ARTS FACILITY; 61 STUDENTS TOOK LESSONS IN 2021/22, AND ALMOST 740 THIRTY MINUTE LESSONS WERE TAUGHT (MOST IN-PERSON, SOME REMOTELY). LESSONS WERE OFFERED SEPTEMBER THROUGH JULY; STUDENTS WERE CHARGED TUITION, WITH OVER HALF THE STUDENTS RECEIVING A TOTAL OF 5,000 IN TUITION AID. THREE RECITALS WERE HELD TO SHOWCASE STUDENT PROGRESS. OUR YOUTH DRUM CORP MET WEEKLY IN-PERSON.
