REVERSE MORTGAGE COUNSELING: REVERSE MORTGAGE OFFERS CLIENTS GUIDANCE AS TO WHETHER A REVERSE MORTGAGE LOAN OPTION IS RIGHT FOR THEM AND, IF SO, HOW TO QUALIFY. IN 2020, OVER 3,400 SESSIONS WERE CONDUCTED.
CREDIT AND DEBT COUNSELING: CREDIT.ORG PROVIDES FINANCIAL COACHINGIN THE AREAS OF MONEY MANAGEMENT AND BUDGETING FOR THOSE WITHCREDIT CARD AND OTHER UNSECURED DEBT. ONE POSSIBLE RESULT OF SUCHCOACHING IS ENROLLMENT IN A DEBT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM WHICH IS AMONITORED OR STRUCTURED REPAYMENT PLAN FOR WHICH NOMINAL FEES ARECHARGED.
HOUSING COUNSELING AND EDUCATION: CREDIT.ORG PROVIDES EDUCATION TO FIRST TIMEHOMEBUYERS AND THOSE HOMEOWNERS SEEKING TO AVOID FORECLOSURE.THESE SERVICES ARE MOSTLY PROVIDED AT NO COST AND ARE FUNDED BYFEDERAL GRANTS FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBANDEVELOPMENT AS WELL AS OTHER PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SOURCES.
