THE MILWAUKEE WOMEN'S CENTER, INC., A WISCONSIN NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION, PROVIDES INNOVATIVE, CULTURALLY COMPETENT HOLISTIC CARE THAT WILL EMPOWER MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN TO LIVE SAFE, INDEPENDENT, AND HEALTHY LIVES.

DURING 2021, THE MILWAUKEE WOMEN'S CENTER SERVED 1,025 MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN. SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE: EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION AND SHELTER FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES AFFECTED BY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND HOMELESSNESS; A 24-HOUR CRISIS HOTLINE; FOOD, CLOTHING, TOILETRIES, AND PERSONAL CARE ITEMS; COUNSELING AND SUPPORT GROUPS TO ADDRESS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS, AND HEALTHY PARENTING; SPECIALIZED SERVICES AND SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN AND OLDER ABUSED WOMEN; CASE MANAGEMENT TO HELP THOSE IN OUR CARE MEET THEIR HOUSING, EMPLOYMENT, LEGAL, AND OTHER BASIC NEEDS; BATTERERS' PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION EDUCATION; FATHERHOOD PROGRAMMING; INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT; AND CAREER APPROPRIATE FREE CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES TO MEN AND WOMEN SEEKING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES. THE EMERGENCY SHELTER CONTINUED TO OPERATE 24/7 WHILE OTHER SERVICES WERE PROVIDED IN SMALL GROUPS OR REMOTELY OVER THE PHONE, VIA EMAIL, AND THROUGH VIDEO CONFERENCING.
