SERVING THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD BY WORKING TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN CENTRAL OHIO.

THE KIWANIS CLUB OF COLUMBUS IS A MEMBERSHIP-BASED SERVICE ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE COLUMBUS, OHIO COMMUNITY. PARTNERING WITH LOCAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND BUSINESSES, WE USE OUR CLUB'S RESOURCES TO: 1) IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE THROUGH HANDS-ON SERVICE PROJECTS 2) MAKE A BROADER IMPACT ON PRESSING COMMUNITY PROBLEMS THROUGH PHILANTHROPIC INITIATIVES, AND 3) STAY INFORMED ABOUT ISSUES AFFECTING OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH WEEKLY FORUMS WITH COMMUNITY LEADERS. AS A PART OF THE KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL FAMILY, WE JOIN WITH THOUSANDS OF CLUBS AROUND THE GLOBE THAT ARE FOCUSED ON SERVING THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD. THE FOLLOWING ARE JUST A FEW OF THE MANY PROGRAMS WE SPONSOR AND/OR SUPPORT THROUGH VOLUNTEER SERVICE PROJECTS WITH OUR FELLOW KIWANIANS: LOCAL FOOD PANTRIES AND MEAL PROGRAMS, FURNITURE BUILDS FOR THE LESS FORTUNATE, SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGING, AND LOCAL NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN-UP EFFORTS. ASSISTED THE COLUMBUS KIWANIS FOUNDATION WITH FUNDRAISING, WHICH PROVIDED: OVER 70,000 OF SUPPORT TO LOCAL CHARITIES, INCLUDING 10,000 FOR THE COLUMBUS METROPOLITAN LIBRARY SUMMER READING PROGRAM, CONTINUING THE CLUB'S LONGTIME AND SUBSTANTIAL SUPPORT OF THIS SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY READING PROGRAM; MORE THAN 10,000 IN DIRECT SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT TO COLUMBUS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ATTENDING COLLEGE. AWARDS WERE MADE TO COLUMBUS CITY SCHOOLS HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS, RENEWAL AWARDS TO PAST RECIPIENTS AND "NONTRADITIONAL" AWARDS TO STUDENTS WHO WERE RETURNING OR NEW TO COLLEGE AFTER TIME OFF FROM EDUCATION; SUPPORT FOR PROGRAMS BENEFITING BABIES AND CHILDREN FROM BIRTH TO FIVE YEARS, INCLUDING LOWER LIGHTS CHRISTIAN HEALTH CNTER, COLUMBUS EARLY LEARNING CENTER, AND FURNITURE BANK OF CENTRAL OHIO; AND SUPPORT FOR PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS THROUGH CENTRAL COMMUNITY HOUSE, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOR ALL, AND ST. VINCENT FAMILY SERVICES.
