TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND AWARENESS PROGRAM:FUNDAMENTAL LEARNING CENTER'S TEACHER TRAINING COURSES INTENSIVELY TRAIN CLASSROOM TEACHERS, READING SPECIALISTS AND OTHER EDUCATORS ON METHODOLOGIES AND REMEDIATION STRATEGIES FOR DYSLEXIA AND/OR WRITTEN LANGUAGE DISORDERS. FUNDAMENTAL LEARNING CENTER ALSO OFFERS DYSLEXIA SCREENING TO APPLICANTS. IN ADDITION, FLC FACILITATES MONTHLY LECTURES TO HELP PARENTS AND EDUCATORS UNDERSTAND DYSLEXIA. FLC'S MOST POPULAR LECTURE IS CAPTIONED: "A WALK IN THEIR SHOES." THIS SIMULATION DEMONSTRATES TO EDUCATORS AND PARENTS WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE DYSLEXIC. THE SIMULATION PROVIDES PARENTS AND CHILDREN WITH A GLIMPSE INTO THE STRUGGLES ASSOCIATED WITH DYSLEXIA AND OFFERS HELP AND HOPE. MOST RECENTLY, FLC DEVELOPED AND RELEASED ORIGINAL TEACHER TRAINING CURRICULUM. THIS CURRICULUM IS A RESEARCH-BASED LITERACY INSTRUCTION MANUAL DESIGNED TO GIVE EMERGING READERS AGES 5-7 THE GIFT OF LITERACY. THE CURRICULUM IS A WONDERFUL TOOL AND INCLUDES A FULL SET OF LESSON PLANS. IT CAN BE ADAPTED FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES AND LEARNING STYLES. FLC'S VISION IS "ALL CHILDREN READING . . . ALL CHILDREN SUCCEEDING". . FLC ADMITS STUDENTS OF ANY RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL, AND ETHNIC ORIGIN TO ALL THE RIGHTS, PRIVILEGES, PROGRAMS, AND ACTIVITIES GENERALLY ACCORDED OR MADE AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS AT THE SCHOOL. FLC DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE ON THE BASIS OF RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL, AND ETHNIC ORIGIN IN ADMINISTRATION OF ITS EDUCATIONAL POLICES, ADMISSION POLICIES, SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS, AND OTHER SCHOOL-ADMINISTERED PROGRAMS.

ROLPH LITERACY ACADEMY (RLA): ROLPH LITERACY ACADEMY (RLA) IS A PRIVATE SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN AGES 5 THROUGH 10 DESIGNED TO ASSIST CHILDREN WITH DYSLEXIA AND OTHER READING DIFFICULTIES. RLA EDUCATORS ARE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING A STIMULATING ENVIRONMENT WHERE CHILDREN'S TALENTS ARE EXPRESSED, VALUED, AND OPTIMALLY UTILIZED THROUGH CAREFUL PLANNING OF MEANINGFUL, EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING ACROSS ALL AREAS. RLA SPECIALIZES IN TEACHING CHILDREN TO READ, WRITE AND SPELL BY TAPPING INTO EACH CHILD'S INDIVIDUAL LEARNING STYLE. AT RLA, STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN A FULL-DAY CURRICULUM OF INSTRUCTION, INCLUDING ALPHABETIC PHONICS. RLA'S GOAL IS TO ACADEMICALLY CHALLENGE OUT-OF-THE-BOX THINKERS IN A WIDE RANGE OF ACADEMIC AREAS; SUCH AS SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ART, MATH, PHYSICAL EDUCATION, AND MUSIC. STUDENTS EMERGE FROM RLA READY TO RETURN TO NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOLS WITH READING SKILLS, SELF-CONFIDENCE, AND THE NECESSARY ACADEMIC RESOURCES THAT PREPARE THEM FOR FUTURE SUCCESS. DURING THE SUMMER, RLA OFFERS AN INTENSE, SIX -WEEK INTERVENTION PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN WITH DYSLEXIA AND OTHER READING DIFFICULTIES. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT:FLC'S LONG PRACTICE OF SUCCESS WORKING WITH CHILDREN MOST RESISTANT TO LEARNING TO READ HAS UNIQUELY QUALIFIED OUR ORGANIZATION TO CREATE A NEW CURRICULUM. WE HAVE LAUNCHED THIS HELP FOR PARENTS AND TEACHERS WITH A STATE-OF-THE-ART, LONG DISTANCE TRAINING PLATFORM. FLC HAS CREATED "THE SOUND CASE FOR EMERGING READERS," A NEW, RESEARCH-BASED CURRICULUM WITH MATERIALS TO AID IN MULTISENSORY INSTRUCTION FOR THE YOUNGEST READERS, AGES 4 AND 5.
