SUPPORT PROVIDED FOR SCHOOL YEAR ARTS PROGRAMS IN THE FORMS OF ASSISTANCE WITH MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENTS OF AUDITORIUM, PURCHASE AND REPAIR OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, THEATRE STAGING AND PROPS, LIGHTING, MUSIC STANDS, MUSIC AND ART SUPPLIES, FEES FOR ATTENDANCE AT PERFORMANCES OR FIELD TRIPS, TRANSPORTATION OF PERFORMING GROUPS, SERVICES FOR LIGHTING AND SOUND ENGINEERS, BOOKS, AND UNIFORMS. ESSENTIAL SUPPORT THAT MAKES A PUBLIC SCHOOL ONE THAT CAN PROVIDE AN EMPHASIS ON STUDIES OF THE ARTS SINCE THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM PROVIDES VERY MINIMAL ASSISTANCE.


PURCHASE OF PROPERTY NEAR TO STIVERS SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS FOR MULTIPLE PURPOSES: SPECIAL EVENTS AND GALLERY SPACE FOR PERFORMANCES, EXHIBITIONS, GUEST LECTURERS/PERFORMERS IN COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL UNIVERSITIES AND ARTS COMMUNITY. INSTRUCTIONAL SPACE FOR TEACHERS, HOUSING FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENT INTERNSHIPS, VISITING ARTISTS PROFESSORS, INSTRUCTORS FOR ART ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND CULTURAL EXCHANGES. TO PROVIDE OFFICE SPACE FOR SEEDLING FOUNDATION. SUBSTANTIAL RENOVATION WILL BEEQUIRED PRIOR TO USE.


SUPPORT FOR ADJUNCT TEACHING STAFF AT STIVERS SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS. EXTERNAL TEACHING STAFF BROUGHT INTO THE SCHOOL TO SATISFY ADDITIONAL NEEDS IN CREATIVE WRITING, MUSIC, ART, DANCE, PHOTOGRAPHY, BAND, ORCHESTRA, PIANO, CHOIR, SCULPTURE DUE TO SHORTFALL OF PUBLIC SCHOOL FUNDS. THESE TEACHERS HAVE BEEN EXPANDED INTO A NEWER PROGRAM CALLED EXTENDED DAY THAT PROVIDES STUDIES FOR STUDENTS AFTER SCHOOL AND DURING THE SUMMER. ADDITIONAL FUNDS ARE USED FOR SCHOLARSHIPS, ATTENDANCE FEES FOR SUMMER ARTS CAMPS, SPECIAL TRIPS TO SEE DANCES, CONCERTS AND MUSEUMS OUTSIDE OF THE SCHOOL SETTING THAT WILL BROADEN STUDENT EXPOSURE TO THE GREATER POSSIBILITIES AT HIGHER LEVELS OF SKILL IN THE PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS.
