WAS ORIGINALLY FORMED TO OPERATE NATIONWIDE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL (NCH) & WAS REORGANIZED TO OPERATE NCH & AFFILIATES, WHICH HAS BECOME ONE OF THE LARGEST PEDIATRIC HEALTHCARE CENTERS IN THE US, PROVIDING MEDICAL EXPERTISE, RESEARCH, HEALTH-PROVIDER EDUCATION & CHILD ADVOCACY.

NATIONWIDE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, INC. (NCH INC.) WAS FORMED TO OPERATE A TAX-EXEMPT HOSPITAL AND NOW OWNS AND OPERATES TAX-EXEMPT HOSPITAL FACILITIES AND OTHER HEALTH CARE FACILITIES IN COLUMBUS, OHIO. ITS PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO PROMOTE CHILDREN'S HEALTH CARE IN THE CENTRAL OHIO COMMUNITY. FOUNDED IN 1892, NCH INC. HAS DEVELOPED INTO ONE OF THE LARGEST AND MOST SOPHISTICATED HEALTH CARE CENTERS IN THE COUNTRY, FEATURING 551 INPATIENT BEDS AT ITS HOSPITAL, NATIONWIDE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL (NATIONWIDE CHILDREN'S), INCLUDING CRITICAL CARE UNITS, TRANSPLANT SERVICES, PEDIATRIC SUB-SPECIALISTS AND SURGICAL FACILITIES. NATIONWIDE CHILDREN'S IS A LEVEL 1 TRAUMA CENTER, THE HIGHEST AWARD A TRAUMA CENTER CAN RECEIVE. THERE WERE MORE THAN 1.6 MILLION PATIENT VISITS IN 2021.
