TO RESTORE, IMPROVE, AND PRESERVE VISION BY CONNECTING EYE DONORS WITH TRANSPLANT PATIENTS; EDUCATING PHYSICIANS; AND ENHANCING EYE RESEARCH THROUGH QUALITY EYE BANKING SERVICES.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

DURING FISCAL YEAR ENDING 2021, MORE THAN 1100 PATIENTS BENEFITED FROM THE EYE BANK'S WORK, RECEIVING CORNEAS FOR SIGHT-RESTORATION TRANSPLANTS AND OTHER DONOR EYE TISSUES FOR SURGERIES TO IMPROVE VISION AND TREAT EYE DISEASES.


THE EYE BANK'S PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAM SERVES OVER 40 AREA HOSPITALS, WHERE DESIGNATED STAFF ARE TRAINED TO DISCUSS EYE DONATION WITH THE FAMILIES OF IDENTIFIED POTENTIAL EYE DONORS. THE EYE BANK PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS TO NURSES, SOCIAL WORKERS, AND CHAPLAINS.
