Part 3

PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE OF THE INTERFAITH ORGANIATION IS TO SPEAK IN ONE VOICE AND ACT TOGETHER FOR THE JUDICATORY (DENOMINATION) MEMBERS TO IMPROVE PUBLIC POLICY ON SOCIAL INJUSTICE ISSUES, AND IN THE PROCESS CIVIC DISCOURSE. OUR MEMBERS SELECT TWO SOCIAL PRIORITIES ANNUALLY AT A FALL PLANNING CONFERENCE FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR. OUR TWO PRIORITES FOR 2022 WERE COMMUNITY-POLICE RELATIONS/JUSTICE REFORM AND DISPLACEMENT/AFFORDABLE HOUSING/HOMELESSNESS. UNDER THE FIRST PRIORITY, MARCC DEVELOPED A COURTWATCH PROJECT IN HAMILTON COUNTY, OHIO, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS CINCINNATI AREA. TRAINED VOLUNTEERS, DEVELOPED AN OBSERVATION FORM WITH THE INPUT OF ATTORNEYS, JUDGES, COURT ADMINISTRATORS, OBSERVED ALL JUDGES IN MUNICIPAL COURT, UPLOADED OBSERVATION DATA TO A SOFTWARE PROGRAM WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF A UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI RESEARCH PROFESSOR. THEN WE PREPARED A REPORT THAT INCLUDED FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS, THAT WAS DISSEMINATED TO THE JUDGES, LOCAL GOVERNMENT, AND BROADER COMMUNITY. IN HOUSING WE INFORMED AND ADVOCATED FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND DEDICATED FUNDING FOR THE EXISTING CITY OF CINCINNATI AFFORDABLE HOUSING TRUST FUND. DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, IN 2021 MARCC LOST ONE STAFF MEMBER, AND NOW HAS ONE F/T PERSON. MARCC IS, AS OF THE SPRING OF 2022, SEARCHING FOR A SECOND F/T PERSON TO FILL THE POSITION OF OFFICE AND SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER. MARCC FILES AN ANNUAL REPORT ACCORDING TO ITS BY-LAWS.
