WITH TEMPERATURES REACHING 102 DEGREES, THREE GENERATIONS OF BORICUA WOMEN ARE MELTING ON THE STOOP IN EL BARRIO WHEN A WILTED WHITE SIXTY-FIVE-YEAR-OLD GRANDMOTHER FROM IOWA ARRIVES WITH HER THIRTEEN-YEAR- OLD HALF PUERTO RICAN GRANDSON TO RELOCATE TO NYC SO THAT HE CAN EXPERIENCE THE CULTURE OF HIS UNKNOWN NUYORICAN FATHER. FUELED BY THE INTENSE HEAT AND UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTERS BETWEEN CULTURES, THEIR WORLD SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUSTS, CREATING SPACE FOR SOCIAL AWAKINGS FOR ALL THE CHARACTERS INVOLVED.
