THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED DOULA AND SUPPORTING SERVICES TO 1,151 INDIVIDUALS AND 34,530 HOURS OF CONSULTATION INCLUDING: PRENATAL HOME VISITS AND CONTINUOUS SUPPORT THROUGH THE BIRTH PROCESS AS WELL AS POSTPARTUM HOME VISITS TO NEW MOTHERS; AND PROVIDED CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION CLASSES, BABY YOGA CLASSES, PRENATEL YOGA CLASSES AND OTHER EDUCATION CLASSES TO HIGH SCHOOL TEENS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDED 23,400 BABY & MATERNITY ESSENTIALS TO MOTHERS INCLUDING: DIAPERS, WIPES, CLOTHES & OTHER NEEDS. CLIENTS SERVED BY DFMA HAVE STATISTICALLY PROVEN, COMPARED TO MO AND GREENE COUNTY, TO HAVE LESS PRETERM BIRTHS, MORE BABIES BORN AT NORMAL BIRTH WEIGHTS, MORE PRENATAL CARE VISITS, AND HIGHER INITIAL BREASTFEEDING RATES.
