THE HART ISLAND PROJECT HOSTED A DISCUSSION TABLE ON NONPROFIT SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS AT THE YALE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT PHILANTHROPY CONFERENCE IN NEW HAVEN, CT ON FEBRUARY 23, 2018 ON FEBRUARY 24, 2018, THE HART ISLAND PROJECT HOSTED AN INFORMATION TABLE AT THE BRONX PARKS SPEAK-UP AT LEHMAN COLLEGE IN BRONX, NY.ON MARCH 3, 2018 THE HART ISLAND PROJECT PARTICIPATED IN THE HISTORIC DISTRICTS COUNCIL ANNUAL PRESERVATION FAIR WITH AN INFORMATION TABLE AND PUBLIC SLIDE SHOW AT NEW YORK LAW SCHOOL IN MANHATTAN. ON MARCH 20, 2018 THE HART ISLAND PROJECT BEGAN DEVELOPMENT OF TRAVELING CLOUD MUSEUM 2.0 FEATURING A NEW DETAILED INTERACTIVE MAP COMPOSED OF GEOTIFF PHOTOGRAPHS AND NEW TOOLS FOR IDENTIFYING PEOPLE WHO DIED OF AIDS RELATED ILLNESS.ON APRIL 14, 2018 THE HART ISLAND PROJECT ACCOMPANIED PEDIATRICIAN GREG GULBRANSEN ON A BOAT TO PHOTOGRAPH EROSION ON THE NORTHEAST SHORELINE OF HART ISLAND. THE PHOTOS SHOWED SKELETAL REMAINS WASHING INTO THE LONG ISLAND SOUND. CITY OFFICIALS THEN AGREED TO EXPEDITE PLANNED SHORELINE REMEDIATION USING FUNDS FROM FEMA.ON APRIL 29, 2018, THE HART ISLAND PROJECT WORKED WITH LICENSED DRONE PILOTS DANIEL HERBERT AND PARKER GYOKEROS TO VIDEO LOCATIONS WHERE KNOWN AIDS VICTIMS ARE BURIED ON HART ISLAND AND COLLECT GEOTIFFS FOR MAPPING THE ENTIRE 131 ACRE ISLAND.ON MAY 9, 2018, THE HART ISLAND PROJECT MET WITH NEW YORK COUNCIL MEMBER YDANIS RODRIQUEZ AND ATTENDED THE INTRODUCTION OF LEGISLATION TO TRANSFER JURISDICTION OF HART ISLAND FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & RECREATION AT CITY HALL IN MANHATTAN.ON MAY 23, 2018, THE HART ISLAND PROJECT PREPARED A SESQUICENTENNIAL TOUR OF HART ISLAND ON BEHALF OF THE NEW YORK CITY COUNCIL. ON MAY 30, 2018, THE HART ISLAND PROJECT COMPLETED UPDATES TO ITS DATABASE OF PUBLIC BURIALS ON HART ISLAND 1980-2018.ON JUNE 23, 2018, THE HART ISLAND PROJECT HELD IT'S ANNUAL MEETING AT GRACE CHURCH IN BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY AND SHOWED A NEW VIDEO OF AIDS BURIAL LOCATION ON HART ISLAND.ON NOVEMBER 2, 2018, THE HART ISLAND PROJECT LAUNCHED TRAVELING CLOUD MUSEUM 2.0 AS PART OF REIMAGINE NYC AT JEFFERSON MARKET LIBRARY IN MANHATTAN.ON NOVEMBER 4, 2018, THE HART ISLAND PROJECT'S MELINDA HUNT SPOKE AT A PUBLIC MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR NEIL HARRIS, A HOMELESS MAN WHO LIVED AND DIED IN THE UPPER WEST SIDE OF MANHATTAN. THE SERVICE WAS HELD AT CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY CHURCH IN MANHATTAN.ON DECEMBER 5, 2018, THE HART ISLAND PROJECT MET WITH US VETERAN JACK HOCKETT ON CITY ISLAND, BRONX, NY TO ASSIST HIS EFFORT TO DISINTER OF VETERAN MARTIN LODER. ON DECEMBER 13, 2018, THE HART ISLAND PROJECT ACCEPTED A NEW YORK STATE COUNCIL ON THE ARTS MUSIC COMPOSITION AWARD AS FISCAL SPONSOR FOR ANITA BROWN.
