FRESH CHECK DAY: FRESH CHECK DAY IS A CELEBRATORY FAIR-LIKE EVENT THAT CREATES AN APPROACHABLE ATMOSPHERE WHERE STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ENGAGE IN DIALOGUE ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH. FRESH CHECK DAY HELPS TO BUILD A BRIDGE BETWEEN STUDENTS AND THE MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES AND PROGRAMS THAT EXIST ON CAMPUS, IN THE COMMUNITY AND ON A NATIONAL LEVEL. USING A PEER-TO-PEER MESSAGING MODEL, FRESH CHECK DAY UTILIZES STUDENT GROUPS IN ADDITION TO COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY STAFF TO DEVELOP AND EXECUTE INTERACTIVE BOOTHS THAT DELIVER MENTAL HEALTH AND RESOURCE INFORMATION IN A FUN AND ENGAGING WAY. THE PROGRAM CONTINUED TO EXPAND NATIONALLY AND 175 FRESH CHECK DAY EVENTS WERE HELD IN 35 STATES, PLUS D.C., IN 2021, DIRECTLY IMPACTING OVER 33,944 STUDENTS.
THE NINE OUT OF TEN AMBASSADOR PROGRAM IS A STUDENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM THAT EMPOWERS COLLEGE STUDENTS TO BE A HOPEFUL VOICE FOR SUICIDE. OUR NINE OUT OF TEN PROGRAM IS BOTH AN INFORMATIONAL WEBSITE AND A PEER-RUN SUICIDE PREVENTION PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM EDUCATES STUDENTS ABOUT THE WARNING SIGNS OF SUICIDE, AVAILABLE RESOURCES AND ACTIONS STEPS TO TAKE IF A FRIEND IS THINKING ABOUT SUICIDE. WITH THIS KNOWLDEGE, STUDENTS ARE EMPLOWERED TO BE GATEKEEPERS FOR THEIR PEERS AND GET THEM HELP IF THEY ARE STRUGGLING WITH THEIR MENTAL HEALTH.
4 WHAT'S NEXT: 4 WHAT'S NEXT IS A PRIMARY PREVENTION PROGRAM THAT BUILDS PSYCHOLOGICAL RESILIENCY IN STUDENTS BY GIVING THEM THE TOOLS TO HANDLE STRESS AND DISTRESS NOW AND IN THEIR FUTURE. THERE WERE 20 4 WHAT'S NEXT SITES ACQUIRED IN 2021, RESULTING IN AN ESTIMATED IMPACT OF 500 STUDENTS.
