WRA PROMOTES ACCESS TO ROWING THROUGH EDUCATION, COACHING, AND TRAINING IN THE SPORT. CLASSES ARE OFFERED IN AN ENVIRONMENT OF TEAMWORK, HEALTH, FITNESS, AND COMPETITION TO ATHLETES OF ALL ABILITY LEVELS AND AGE RANGES FROM BEGINNER YOUTHS TO EXPERIENCED MASTERS. THE CLUB'S MEMBERSHIP RANGES FROM BEGINNER YOUTHS TO EXPERIENCED MASTERS. THE CLUB SAW A 20% INCREASE IN THE ADULT LEARN TO ROW PROGRAM, INTRODUCING 35 NEW ADULTS TO THE SPORT IN 2023. THE JUNIOR (YOUTH) PROGRAM REMAINED STRONG, ACTIVELY ENGAGING 49 STUDENTS TO DEVELOP THEIR PHYSICAL (ROWING) AND SOCIAL (TEAMWORK) SKILLS. IN ALL, THE CLUB SERVED OVER 150 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH WRA PROGRAMMING. IN ADDITION, THIS YEAR THE WRA WAS ABLE TO INTRODUCE HUNDREDS OF MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS TO THE SPORT OF ROWING THROUGH THE ERG EDUCATION PROGRAM, WHICH IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE BELLINGHAM SCHOOL DISTRICT, PROVIDING A PLATFORM FOR WRA AND TRAINED STAFF TO TEACH ROWING AS A TWO-WEEK UNIT IN THE USUAL PE CURRICULUM.
