2022-23 (2023 BASEBALL SEASON) CONTINUED OUR GROWTH AND SUCCESS WITH THE LITTLE LEAGUE MODEL AND OUR PARTNERSHIP AS PART OF SOUTHEAST POLK (SEP) LITTLE LEAGUE; FROM APRIL THROUGH JULY OUR FACILITY HOSTED OVER 400 LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL GAMES, A LEAGUE TOURNAMENT,AND LITTLE LEAGUE ALL-STARS INCLUDING TWO STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENTS. WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO HOLD A FALL LEAGUE FOR THE FIRST TIME, ALLOWING FOR AN AFFORDABLE BASEBALL OPTION IN THE OFF-SEASON FOR OUR SEP AREA FAMILIES.WE RENEWED OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CENTRAL IOWA SPORTS ALLOWING US TO HOST WEEKEND USSSA BASEBALL TOURNAMENTS WHICH BRINGS IN SIGNIFICANT FIELD RENTAL AND CONCESSIONS INCOME. THIS INCOME OFFSETS FACILITIES MAINTENANCE COSTS ALLOWING US TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS AND KEEP REGISTRATION COSTS DOWN FOR OUR LITTLE LEAGUE FAMILIES. THANKS TO THIS IN 2023 WE WERE ABLE TO INVEST IN NEW EQUIPMENT FOR OUR PLAYERS INCLUDING PITCHING MACHINES AND CATCHERS EQUIPMENT. IN ADDITION WE HAD 2 MORE OF OUR 7 BASEBALL FIELDS RENOVATED, THANKS TO OUR ONGOING PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF ALTOONA TO MODERNIZE OUR BALLPARK, WHICH ALLOWS US TO COMPETE WITH OTHER FACILITIES IN THE AREA AS IT RELATES TO HOSTING TOURNAMENTS AND EVENTS.
