VOICES OF RECOVERY SAN MATEO COUNTY (VORSMC) HONORS AND EMBRACES ALL UNIQUE STRENGTHS AND CHALLENGES ALONG THE JOUNREY OF RECOVERY. VORSMC CREATES PEER-LED OPPORTUNITIES FOR EDUCATION, WELLNESS, ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS IN OR IN NEED OF LONG TERM RECOVERY FROM ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUG ADDICTIONS, EQUALLY SHARING THESE OPPORTUNITIES AND SUPPORT SERVICES WITH IMPACTED FAMILIES.

RECOVERY SERVICES DIRECTS THE ACTIVITIES AS PART OF THE REALIGNMENT PROGRAM FOR THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, ASSISTING WITH ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUG SERVICES AND ADDICTIONS FOR MEN AND WOMEN BEING INTEGRATED INTO SOCIETY AFTER INCARCERATION. VORSMC WORKS WITH CLIENTS RETURNING TO THE COMMUNITY FROM JAIL AND PRISONS, HELPING THEM THROUGH WRAP GROUPS TO GET ACCLIMATED BACK INTO THE COMMUNITY.
PWI_PEER WORKFORCE INVESTMENT GRANT RECEIVED FROM DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES TO PROVIDE PEER RUN SERVICE PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT THE OVERALL EXPANSION OF THE STATE'S BEHAVIORAL AND HEALTH PEER RUN WORKFORCE THROUGH THEIR PIVOTAL ROLE OF FACILITATING ACCESS TO CARE AND SUPPORTING RETENTION SERVICE.
SAMHSA IS A FEDERAL GRANT FROM SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION TO EXPAND SERVICES IN SAN MATEO COUNTY TO INCREASE THE PREVALENCE AND QUALITY OF LONG TERM RECOVERY SERVICES BY USING AN EVIDENCED BASED PRACTICE PROGRAM, WELLNESS RECOVERY ACTION PLAN THROUGH PEER TO PEER RECOVERY FACILITIATION.
