Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
ST. ABRAHAM'S CLASSICAL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY WAS FOUNDED IN 2009 IN SANTA CRUZ, CA. IT WAS FOUNDED BY FAMILIES WHO WANTED TO CREATE A MORE TRADITIONAL EDUCATION FOR THEIR CHILDREN, ONE THAT VALUED PARENT INVOLVEMENT AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THEIR SCHOOL. WITH FAIRLY HUMBLE BEGINNINGS, THE SCHOOL HAS EXPANDED EACH YEAR, AT AN AVERAGE OF 10-15% STUDENT GROWTH RATE, AND HAS MOVED LOCATIONS 3-4 TIMES TO ACCOMMODATE THAT GROWTH. WE CURRENTLY MEET AT 1940 BONITA DRIVE IN APTOS, WHERE WE HAVE A 5-YEAR LEASE ON THE FACILITY. WE CAME TO THAT FACILITY 5 YEARS AGO WITH CLOSE TO 70 STUDENTS AND NOW HAVE APPROXIMATELY 131 STUDENTS WHO MEET, ON AVERAGE, 5 DAYS PER WEEK. *** CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O ***IN OUR PROGRAM, WE SEEK TO TEACH STUDENTS TO THINK OF THEMSELVES AS DISCIPLES OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, EQUIPPED WITH UNIQUE GIFTS AND TALENTS, AND CREATED FOR A GOD-GIVEN PURPOSE. WE BELIEVE THE PURPOSE OF EDUCATION IN GENERAL IS TO CULTIVATE VIRTUE IN THE SOUL OF THE STUDENT, RATHER THAN TO MERELY GET STUDENTS INTO COLLEGE OR SOME OTHER UTILITARIAN END. WE BELIEVE THIS IS BEST ACCOMPLISHED IN A CHRISTIAN CONTEXT AND A BIBLICAL FRAMEWORK THAT ALLOWS THE SOUL TO REFLECT UPON THE GOOD, THE TRUE, AND THE BEAUTIFUL, THROUGH THE DISCIPLINES OF THE LIBERAL ARTS, FORMING HABITS OF VIRTUE IN CHRIST, FOR THE GLORY OF GOD. WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE FOR US? IT IS GRADUATING STUDENTS WHO LOVE GOD, FORM CHRIST-LIKENESS IN ALL AREAS, AND ARE EQUIPPED WITH WISDOM AND ELOQUENCE TO LEAD OTHERS AND IMPACT THEIR CULTURE FOR THE GLORY AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
