CONNECTING TO END POVERTY - A MINNESOTA WITHOUT POVERTY IS LEADING A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT TO IMPLEMENT THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION TO END POVERTY. IN THIS ROLE, WE ARE "CONNECTING TO END POVERTY: MOVING THE LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION TO END POVERTY (LCEP) RECOMMENDATIONS FORWARD IN THE LEGISLATURE."MICRO ENTERPRISE PARTNERSHIPS (MEP) - A MINNESOTA WITHOUT POVERTY USES MEP TO PROMOTE SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT IN MINNESOTA COMMUNITIES. THE FOCUS IS ON CREATING ENTREPRENEURIAL OPPORTUNITIES AMONG INDIVIDUALS OR GROUPS WHO ARE CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING POVERTY. THESE VENTURES ARE CARRIED OUT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS AND HELP TO "RESTORE WORK AS A WAY OUT OF POVERTY," THE LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION TO END POVERTY'S FIRST RECOMMENDATION.STRATEGIC PLANNING - EMBARKED ON A STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS, AMWP'S BOARD ADOPTED THREE STRATEGIC GOALS FOR 2014-19 THAT WE BELIEVE WILL MOVE OUR STATE CLOSER TO FULFILLING THE VISION OF A MINNESOTA WITHOUT POVERTY.2016 ACCOMPLISHMENTS:* CONVENED STATEWIDE ORGANIZING TEAM IN JANUARY 2016 FOR PROGRAM STRATEGY SESSION. * POVERTY IMPACT EVALUATION (PIE) - 1. TEAM CONTINUED TO MEET AND MOVE FORWARD WITH DEVELOPING A FRAMEWORK 2. FUNDING WAS SECURED TO MOVE THE EVALUATION FRAMEWORK FORWARD 3. CONTRACTED WITH RESEARCHER TO DRAFT INITIAL REPORT ON POVERTY IMPACT EVALUATION (PIE) THEORY, FRAMEWORK AND RECOMMENDATIONS. 4. DRAFT OF REPORT WAS COMPLETED BY DECEMBER 2016. *FAITH COMMUNITY WORK GROUP CONTINUED TO MEET MONTHLY AND PLAN CONVENING TO RELEASE THE RESULTS OF THE POVERTY IMPACT EVALUATION REPORT IN EARLY 2017.
