THE EXEMPT PURPOSE OF NATIONAL HOMELAND SECURITY ASSOCIATION (NHSA) IS TO SUPPORT THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION AMONG JURISDICTIONS THAT RECEIVE UASI (URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE) FUNDING FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT NHSA ACTIVITY TO ACCOMPLISH THIS IS AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE.

NHSA WAS ABLE TO HAVE ITS ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN 2021 IN SPITE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. IT CONTINUED OFFERING EDUCATIONAL CONTENT IMPORTANT TO HOMELAND SECURITY OFFICIALS. TOPICS INCLUDED CYBERSECURITY, PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS, GRANTS MANAGEMENT, HOMELAND SECURITY RESEARCH, THREAT PLANNING AND RESPONSE, INTELLIGENCE-GATHERING AND SHARING, AND RECENT EVENTS.
