VOLTRAN IS AN ORGANIZATION COMPRISED OF VOLUNTEER DRIVERS WHO PROVIDE FREE RIDES TO OLDER ADULTS AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES. OUR CADRE OF DRIVERS TAKE THESE INDIVIDUALS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL APPOINTMENTS AND FOR OTHER CRITICAL ERRANDS SUCH AS THE GROCERY STORE, PHARMACY VISITS, THE BANK, AND SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE TO NAME A FEW. WE ALSO PROVIDE NEEDED TRANSPORTATION FOR CANCER AND DIALYSIS PATIENTS, AS WELL AS PROVIDING WHEELCHAIR VAN TRANSPORT, WHEN POSSIBLE.

DURING 2023, WE HAD 43 ACTIVE DRIVERS WHO DROVE OVER 68,000 MILES TO TAKE OLDER ADULTS AND THOSE WITH DISABILITIES TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS, AND FOR OTHER CRITICAL ERRANDS, SUCH AS GROCERY STORE, BANK, POST OFFICE, SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE, SOCIAL VISITS, HAIRCUTS, ETC. WE FULFILLED APPROXIMATELY 62% OF THE RIDE REQUESTS FOR THE YEAR. FUNDS RECEIVED FROM BOTH GRANTS AND DONATIONS FROM CITIZENS WERE UTILIZED FOR PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND MARKETING, AND VOLUNTEER APPRECIATIONALL DESIGNED TO BUILD AWARENESS AND INCREASE THE NUMBER OF DRIVERS. THE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION COLLABORATIVE/PATH FOUNDATION WERE OUR PRIMARY SOURCES OF FUNDING.WE RECRUITED 18 NEW VOLUNTEER DRIVERS DURING 2023. OUR BOARD CONSISTS OF SIX VOLUNTEERS.


WE JOINED THE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE OF THE FIVE COUNTIES WE SERVICE TO INCREASE VISIBILITY OF OUR PROGRAM, AS WELL AS ATTENDED VARIOUS FESTIVALS IN THESE COUNTIES TO BUILD AWARENESS AND RECRUIT DRIVERS.
