DURING ITS ACTIVE PERIOD, THE SCHOOL ENGAGED EXCLUSIVELY IN EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, AND WAS CLASSIFIED AS A 501 (C) (3) ENTITY. IT WAS A SMALL PRIVATE SCHOOL DEDICATED TO CREATING A COMMUNITY OF ENGAGED AND EMPOWERED YOUNG PEOPLE IN GRADES 8-12. THE SCHOOL PROVIDED AN EXCELLENT ENVIRONMENT FOR STUDENTS WHO STRUGGLED WITH EMOTIONAL ISSUES, OR SIMPLY THRIVED IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT WAS SAFE, SMALL IN NUMBERS, AND PROVIDED A FLEXIBLE INSTRUCTIONAL ENVIRONMENT.
